About this role
Givebutter, a fundraising platform for nonprofits, is looking for a senior backend engineer to join its Growth team and own integrations. You will design and build the APIs, webhooks, OAuth flows, and async workflows that connect Givebutter with the tools nonprofits already use. This is a role for someone who enjoys working where systems meet — debugging third-party quirks, shaping developer-facing APIs, and making complex integrations feel simple.
Key responsibilities
- Design and build integrations with third-party platforms (APIs, webhooks, OAuth)
- Shape a developer-friendly API that outside builders and AI agents can consume
- Own backend reliability: databases, async job processing, monitoring
- Partner with product and design to ship integration features end to end
What you'll need
- Strong backend engineering background with API design experience
- Comfort with databases, asynchronous workflows, and distributed systems
- Clear written communication for a remote-first team
- US-based; remote with optional hub cities
Benefits
- $170K–$185K base salary
- Equity
- Remote-first culture
- Mission-driven nonprofit tech
